Ivory Treasures Wedding Planning Tips

Setting the Mood:

Music will set the mood for your ceremony and reception. For example, if you are have your wedding at a church, classical music is appropriate. For a  garden wedding, solo instrumentals would set just the right mood.  

Check with the Venue:

Be sure to check with your wedding planner for musical requirements. Most churches will not allow recorded music. Live musicians are required. Church music directors often have pre-approved musicians for the church.

Live Musician, Deejay or IPod:

Live Music: Ask friends and wedding planners for recommendations. Ask them to show you a list of their music samples. Most musicians can learn requests quickly, but be sure to provide them with the sheet music. You can find most popular sheet music at www.sheetmusicplus.com.

Deejay: They offer a great range of music from jazz to ballads. They will often act as the MC at the wedding reception.

Ipod: Using an Ipod to play your wedding music has gained popularity in recent years.  It not only offers a great range of music catered to your personal tastes, but also saves you a lot of money. Be sure to have a backup player for all your music. Also check the sound system at your venue as some older CD players will not play MP3 files.
