Mia Theodoaratus started her professional career studying with Ms. Chalifoux at the Peabody Conservatory. Her classical training includes a BFA from the University of Austin, Austin TX, and an MFA from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA and placing in American Harp Society and Concerto competitions.
While at CALARTS she started studying jazz and ethnic music which lead to performances with Roscoe Michelle, Charlie Hayden, Baikida Carol, Butch Morris, Dan Morris and Amiyo Dasgupta. She has toured with my own singer/songwriter group and have been a featured performer on NPR radio, Japanese Television and many multimedia events around NYC.
Her diverse background helps me provide an up beat rhythmical set that has all the class and elegance that harp offers with more of a "swing". She caters each event to the individual needs of the client.
